Teacher Education Program Admission Criteria

Health and Physical Education
- Students desiring to teach in the public, parochial, or private
schools in health education and physical education should choose the
physical education major (teacher certification tracks) and the
health education option. In addition to requirements for the
teacher education program, these programs may lead to certification
to teach in elementary and secondary schools.

Recreation/Fitness-
Students interested in the general field of physical education as
professional training for careers in fitness and recreation in
non-school settings such as corporate fitness and recreation agencies
should pursue the physical education major (recreation/fitness track).
These students might also elect to pursue the health education minor,
business administration minor, accounting minor, or marketing minor.

The Bachelor's of
Science in Athletic Training
is an allied health degree offered through the department of
Kinesiology, Health, and Educational Foundations. NATABOC
Certified Athletic Trainers provide prevention, treatment and
rehabilitation of injuries to athletes and the physically
